Aluminum railing fabrication uses CNC equipment that's most efficient when running long batches of identical parts. A 600-unit identical balcony system can be cut, punched, and finished at 3x the throughput of 600 unique balconies. The savings flow straight to project cost.

Where to standardize and where to vary
Standardize the railing system, the glass thickness, the channel detail, and the finish. Vary the railing length (cut to fit) and the lateral position (mounted where the balcony is). That gives you architectural flexibility without losing the production efficiency.
Where to break the rule: penthouse units. The top 1–3 floors of a tower typically have unique balconies, often larger, and often spec'd to higher finish standards. We treat these as a separate project on the same building — they're worth the bespoke treatment because they justify premium pricing.
Delivery rhythm matters too
